Jacksonville-based solo artist Lost Club shows a captivating dream-pop sound on the track “Rubber,” from the newly released Saudade EP. “Rubber” develops initially from vocal yearning and glistening synths into twangy, expressive guitars. The “won’t you stay with me,” chorus shines with a lush infectiousness, the vocal pleading to “just pick up the phone,” resonating in preceding the starry-eyed synth tone in the bridge. The project’s aesthetic is fondly reminiscent of Last Dinosaurs, deftly balancing melodic guitar bursts with shimmering synths and hooky vocal segments.
